questions
When should I reserve my session?
You can reach out and schedule at any time to reserve your preferred date. My calendar fills up early with due dates and visitors. You don't have to know the exact date to reserve, just an estimated timeframe.
What's the turnaround time for photos?
You'll have your finished gallery within four weeks.
When should I plan on scheduling maternity photos?
I recommend scheduling your maternity session in months 6-8, around 25-32 weeks, although you'll likely know when the time is right for you.
When should I plan on scheduling newborn photos?
Once your session is reserved, I'll make a note of your due date and you'll have a space on my newborn schedule. Once your baby arrives, let me know and I'll send you my availability for the following weeks. During weeks one and two, babies are especially tiny and curled into a little ball. In weeks three and on, babies wake up and stretch out a bit more. Newborn sessions take place anytime in the first three months.
The Who, What, Where
Can you make location suggestions?
I have many faves. We'll chat about the merits of the studio or an on location setting, like the beach or your home. The type of session, weather, quality of light, sunrise/sunset, and ages/nap schedules of those involved are all details to consider.
What should we wear??
You'll receive a session planning and style guide with pages of guidance. A fun part of the session is the styling appointment! You'll have the option of coming to the studio to browse and try on pieces from the client closet. There are 60+ dresses for women, shirts for men, and hundreds of pieces for babies and children. Wear clothes from the client closet, wear your own clothing, or a bit of both.
Can my parents be in some of the photos? What about my dog?
Yes and yes. Parents/grandparents are always welcome at sessions. There's nothing more important than celebrating and preserving your family stories. And pets are family too! Small dogs are welcome in the studio.
I'm worried my kid won't cooperate.
Photo session days are no different than any other. Will toddlers want to do their own thing? Every time. Luckily, their thing is usually play and that's just what we'll do for most of the session. I have lots of tips in my session planning guide.
Will you photograph my pregnancy announcement or fresh 48?
Yes! Please reach out for details. Announcements are complimentary in a collective.
Do you offer mini sessions?
Not regularly, but you can keep in touch via my newsletter to hear about studio events.
How does the collective fee work?
You'll pay the $1200 creative fee to reserve 3 or 4 sessions. The price is the same no matter how many you reserve. You'll pay for your images and artwork separately after each session.
Do you have props at the studio?
Each piece that goes into my work serves as a minimal, supporting element to the people in the photograph. My props include items like furniture, bedding, baby baskets and bassinets, pillows, small toys, and seasonal holiday decor.
