My Philosophy
A portrait session that feels more like hanging out?
And you just happen to be styled perfectly, in great light...
an eye for detail
I plan for photo sessions the same way I make travel plans: I think through all of the details, make a timeline, and plan for the best case scenario, always leaving space for breaks and spontaneity.

The colors of our landscape
01
For as long as I can remember, my color has been blue. Between growing up near lakes in Ontario and Michigan, and now spending my adult life in a beach town, I've never been far from the water.
The colors of the beach find their way into my photographs, even when I'm indoors. I try not to collect shells, and somehow they're in my purse, my car, and all around my house. More than once I've found myself sitting in a blue and white striped shirt on my blue and white striped sofa. It's a vibe.
my loves
02
These boys. They're creative, they have endless energy, and of course they're two of my favorite ever subjects. Do they sit still for a photo? Rarely.
Being their mother is the best and the hardest, and photography has connected me with a community of incredible mothers.
Witnessing their relationship as brothers and best friends is one of my favorite parts of life. These two have my whole heart.
food & the garden
03
Obviously. I love to eat... and as an extension I love to grow food and cook for myself and others. Here in Naples, we can grow food year-round, and being in the garden is a favorite family activity. In our garden you can find sungold tomatoes, fennel, all the herbs, lavender, nasturtiums, and zinnias.
I'll often take a break from emails or editing to head outside and forage for lunch. Making my own salads garnished with toasty pine nuts and edible flower petals is my kind of luxury.

KIND WORDS
Nanette is simply the best! She is warm and professional and has an eye for getting the special shots. She captured my three year old and newborn together beautifully. And getting my three year old to sit still is nearly impossible, but Nanette interacted with her so naturally that M couldn’t help but cooperate. Nanette made the whole experience comfortable and pleasant. The photographs are more than I ever imagined and will treasure them forever.

I wanted to take a minute to truly thank you for the absolutely beautiful photos. The last couple of weeks have been a whirlwind but my mom was in town this past weekend so we sat together and took our time looking through the gallery... I was overwhelmed! The photo of M smiling is absolutely priceless. We're both so happy and can't thank you enough.

Nanette you are AMAZING!!! There are so many beautiful photos in here! And you and I both know how crazy my kids really were! I’m seriously blown away. Honestly the rest of the vacation on Sanibel was so peaceful and these photos look like that felt. Good memories for sure.
